Symptoms and Care of RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) in Children

There has been a surge in RSV and other respiratory illness in children . This is starting to filter its way into increased contact in both Primary and secondary care.  Many parents especially new parents will be unfamiliar with managing unwell children and when to access help .

Below are some guidance materials for remote and in person assessment of children with age specific advice and an EMIS search to enable practices to message parents of under 3 year olds through the Accurx asking them to download the Handi App .

The HANDi app aims to provide advice and support to parents and carers when your child is unwell.

The app takes you through a series of questions about the symptoms your child is experiencing and then advises on the best course of action, whether that’s to treat at home, to make a GP appointment, or to head to A&E.
