Somerset Community Pain Service and the Rheumatology: The team have teamed up to provide general practice in Somerset with some information to help manage patients with non-inflammatory musculoskeletal conditions (fibromyalgia, hypermobility). This sits alongside existing NICE guidelines and other tools including the GPtoolkit from Ehlers Danlos Support UK. Follow this link for the useful information.

For all clinical supervisors working with any multi-professional primary care team member: Cornwall Training Hub and Health Education England are running a one-day conference on Wednesday 1st March 2023 for our multi-professional clinical supervisors. The themes for the day are Developing, Communicating, and Networking, focusing on developing good practice around models of excellence and teaching consultations in primary care. It looks like a day which will be really valuable. Please see attached flyer for further details.
Preparing for Upcoming Funding for Advanced Practice: The South West Faculty for Advancing Practice has updated their funding handbook for 2023/24, alongside a Frequently Asked Questions document. Both are now live and available on the Faculty website where additional relevant information can also be found. The handbook details the funding offer for Advanced Practice training that will be available for 2023/24, and the annual demand scoping survey (application) for this funding will open on 1 February 2023 for six weeks. The survey link will be circulated closer to this date.

Designed by Dr Rachel Morris, a former GP specialising in resilience at work and presenter of “you are not a frog” podcast. This training will help you:
• Work out what is in your control and what isn’t
• Stop firefighting the ‘urgent’ and focus on the ‘important’
• Understand why your boundaries crumble when you get pushback
• Get some strategies to say no and deal with pushback whilst practicing safely and collaboratively
