Target Learners: Family carer and non-registered professionals involved in providing palliative care to Covid-19 patients in the community.
This is one of a series of online presentations aimed at helping you and your colleagues understand and implement different parts of the Somerset Covid-19 plans for end of life.
This 12 minute video tutorial by Elly Howes from St Margaret’s Hospice training team will help you become confident and able to give subcutaneous injections and includes the following important areas:
- What is a subcutaneous, sc, injection, why and when will they be needed for a Covid-19 patient and what drugs may be used
- Getting ready - the person, yourself and equipment
- Clear step by step demonstration
- Keeping records and safety
