• First Contact Practitioner Portfolio Support Event - 19 July 2022 10-17.00

• Free Rectal examination training for all clinicians. - The training Hub and CCG are planning on hosting a number of lunchtime digital rectal examination sessions across the county, as described in this advert. The First 2 dates are on the advert. There are plans to have more dates after the summer holidays, broadly covering different areas of somerset, so do not worry if this is not in your locality, there will be more. The sessions can be booked through Jennie Russell as detailed in the advert.

• Imagine if a simple question could change the way we prescribe. Dr Deb Gompertz has recently undertaken the 1 year population health fellowship, which is a joint collaboration between Somerset Training Hub and public health. By asking the simple question “Show me your meds, please” it has demonstrated impact on safety, prescribing costs, prescription numbers, diagnoses and reduced carbon footprint. • New date added: Coronary Heart Disease Update – 29th November via Zoom

• UWE Bristol – October Intake – Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship (3rd year entry)  A 2-year programme that allows both Registered Nursing Associates and Assistant Practitioners to develop and become a Registered Nurse.

  The next intake for this programme is October’22 with applications and interviews to be scheduled and completed before 29/07/22.

• Resources developed to support both patient and clinician.  Some of these include:

  - Club SqueezeIn, with Johnny Vegas, as it’s ambassador. This forms part of our LRSelfCare website and has proved a great resource for clinicians, patients and family members to provide additional information and support in maintaining healthier legs.  https://lrselfcare.co.uk/club-squeeze-in#register-top . Patients and clinicians can sign up to access resources such as healthy living booklets and waiting room information packs. This also includes a compression reminder service, to support continuity of care and the ongoing maintenance of well legs.

   - LeaRn On Demand, our digital learning platform, which houses all of our RCN accredited E-Learning modules, educational videos (including Early intervention and Red Flag modules) and much much more  https://lohmann-rauscher.co.uk/education/elearning . Also, as part of this offering, we are able to create bespoke communities within the platform, allowing for tailored educational content, community forums and ask the expert type chat functions.
