Message from Vice Chair, Dr Ian Boyland - I hope you’ve all had a great Easter. Looking ahead on the SGPET calendar we have the Orthopaedic Study Day on the 15th of June , once again offering on-line and face to face options. This is being led by our colleagues at Musgrove Park Hospital Orthopaedic Department.
For the Pan Somerset Bi-monthly evening meeting on-line education evening of the 15th June we are delighted to welcome Amy Burchall, Consultant Cardiologist at Musgrove Park Hospital who is going to be updating us on the latest guidelines for managing heart failure.
Due to workforce pressures and current restrictions on social distancing the Yeovil Update 2022 will be a series of evening online events starting Monday 20th of June. The final program will be released in the next couple of weeks.

PoTS is a relatively common disorder, linked with autonomic dysfunction. Autonomic dysfunction is any dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system. www.potsuk.org is the go to website for patient and clinician resources. PoTS UK are hosting a masterclass event for anyone (no matter what your starting point is) who would like to understand more about PoTS and related autonomic dysfunction. New Menopause service for Somerset. Dr Juliet Balfour will be providing advice and guidance to GPs and offering consultations for complex cases via the Somerset NHS Menopause Service. This has funding for a 1-year pilot and is based at Glastonbury Surgery.
