• Acute Presentations Study Day, 23 March, Monks Yard  - for paramedics, nurses, physicians assistants, pharmacists, or anyone else seeing acute presentations in primary care. A mix of talks and case discussions on anything from bells palsy and ear pain to swollen legs and depression.

• ACP FUNDING - Information for Practice Managers, PCN Managers, Nurses and AHPs - HEE South West Faculty of Advancing Practice Annual Demand Scoping is open (NB. for new applications only). To apply for funding to support Advanced Practice training for 2022-2023, click the survey link 

  All fields must be completed before you submit so please ensure you have secured a place at the University of your choice and have a designated education supervisor BEFORE completing the application for funding. After completion, please download a PDF and send it to carol.hobbs4@nhs.net as the Training Hub is coordinating any funding approved and needs to track all applications.  

  The submissions will be time stamped; thus if a Practice or PCN is submitting more than one application, please submit them in order of priority for funding as the faculty will use the time stamp as the priority order when processing applications. Please read the handbook in the link below for more information

• Bookends - A reminder that this month’s library Book Club title is ‘The Man Who Died Twice’ by Richard Osman; club meetings take place over Teams, usually at either 5.30pm or 7.30pm and the next meeting is due on 16th February, and all are welcome. If you’d like more information about this year’s titles, please see the attached flyer – and if you’d like a Teams invite for the 16th please email either the library at library@somersetft.nhs.uk .

• RCGP Reinvigorating GP Careers Workshop - Taunton Racecourse 16 March 2022

• New to Practice Opportunities 

1. University of Bristol Primary Care team is holding a 'Festival of Teaching' on Tuesday 5th April 2022 at Bristol Zoo Gardens. It is for all that have been involved, or are keen to become involved, in medical student teaching. It is a day to come together with other GP teachers for a free day of education tips, interactive workshops and CPD. Email phc-teaching@bristol.ac.uk and reserve your place.

2. OSCE examining for medical students, held in Taunton. 3rd years on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th June. 4th years on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th July. Morning and/or afternoon sessions.
