• Talking Therapies: A YouTube video produced with Dr Sarah Temple and SFT Talking Therapies with the intention to normalise conversations about mental health and (hopefully) enable more parents to access the emotional support they need. Vickie is a Somerset parent who accessed emotional support through Talking Therapies. All permissions have been managed and the clip can be promoted in any way by any of you who would like to use it including on social media or in GP surgeries.

• Knowledge Specialist/Librarian - In partnership with the region's two Foundation Trusts, the Somerset GP Training Hub has been awarded HEE funding for a dedicated Knowledge Specialist/Librarian (2 year pilot)  The focus of the post is to help Primary and Integrated Care staff (and students on placement) to access library services. We'd really like to make sure we're providing what you need (subject to the usual NHS constraints!), and if you could fill in this initial survey we would be extremely grateful. It should take 6 minutes at most, and we've tried to make it as straightforward as possible.  This survey will run until 31 October 2021 and will help us to find out how we can best help you. • HCA Diabetes Update for Care Homes - We have an update funded by Somerset Training Hub happening on the 20th Oct for Care Home HCA's.  We would appreciate it if you could forward this/share with colleagues.

• We wanted to make you aware of an interesting programme through NHS England and Education for Health about “Developing Professional Practice and Personal Leadership Skills for Healthcare Support Workers in Primary Care”.  The programme is designed for HCSWs and HCAs who wish to develop their professional skills and, in future, progress to a Nurse Associate role. Further information can be found in the attached leaflet.
