Education Trust
The Somerset GP Education Trust (SGPET) was established three years ago and is committed to supporting Somerset GPs in their learning, work and professional development through the provision and coordination of a wide range of educational activities throughout Somerset. We recognise the importance of this to GPs themselves, the practices they work in, and patients receiving care. We also fully appreciate the links between continuing education and revalidation, career progression and professional wellbeing.
SGPET is a joint initiative between Somerset LMC and SGPET and the committee members are - Dr Harry Yoxall LMC Secretary, Jill Hellens LMC Manager, Dr Steve Holmes, Somerset GP Education Associate Director, Dr Tony Wright, Chairman, Dr Martyn Hughes, Vice Chairman and 6 area GP Educators who share the development and reflect the important contribution this organisation makes to general practice in Somerset.
Like all GP Education trusts SGPET is a membership organisation with an annual subscription rate. For the year from April 1st 2011 this £100.00 for all GPs. If all the GPs within a practice join, any member of their practice team can attend events without incurring a charge.
